⚠ Travel Notes
- ·Maximum trail elevation around 3,650 m is moderate but ascent from Kathmandu is rapid — acclimatize properly and do not rush the first two days out of Sundarijal
- ·Sections north of Mulkharkha have had isolated reports of trail crime — avoid walking alone in that stretch, particularly off-season when foot traffic is low
- ·Monsoon (June–August) makes ridge trails muddy and slippery, leeches are heavy in forested sections, and mountain views are largely blocked by cloud
- ·The 2015 earthquake caused significant damage to villages and trails in this area; some infrastructure has been rebuilt but verify current lodge and trail conditions before departing
- ·Melamchi Khola flooding has historically disrupted the lower valley road — check road access to Melamchi Bazar if planning to exit that way, especially after heavy rain
- ·No TIMS or restricted area permit currently required for standard Helambu circuit, but carry ID and register at police checkposts at Pati Bhanjyang and along the route
